Found this from OzGeology whose videos on gold and general geology I enjoy watching.

Was up at Nerrina prospecting just recently and am appalled to find out that the area is out of bounds and we may have been prospecting illegally.
How can these changes be crept into regulations so easily.
I have a Miners right and no one in government seems to make any attempt to advise holders of such changes let alone provide consultation with rights holders.
Government by secrecy and greenies stealthily lurking in the bowels of government
.
I hope our PMAV are across this.

Absolute disgrace this is, and yes the PMAV are aware of it.

Not surprised given the State Government have recently been sneaking secret policies in via cracks in the floor that Local Councils were not even told about. We thought it was bad in WA; well it is just the start of things to come. Wonder how many people bought properties & do not know that they cant prospect it?

Makes the blood boil seeing this happen long before we all thought it might.

Ridiculous. Everywhere i prospect and other areas i have mapped to go is now off limits.Geovic is hard enough to navigate before it inevitably crashes but i found the s7 areas and it blows me away how much is restricted and unavailable. Big chunks of red ,green and teal no go areas. Where the hell are we supposed to go ?

It`s a real bitcha in the picture it seems.
Victorian State Government ...
Makes one wonder where all the Prospecting License Fees are going and what it is being used for ... Legislation's.
GST Tax Revenue on all the Purchases of Fossicking and Prospecting Equipment what is that dough supporting and where is it being spent ...
Bored Decks Jockeys trying to justify their employment and their Pay Packets by constantly introducing Laws of Complication.
Did i hear the 1st vid Right .. Not allowed to dig holes in your own back yard ?
Does this mean your not allowed to dig a hole to plant a tree or construct a temporary pit toilet.
From the blind to the ridiculous as usual.
What Committee is involved here .
Who are the Ministers involved in this Bill of Proposal or Approval.
What is their real Agenda.

Guess I'll have to cancel my trip to Victoria and spend the money in another state. I wonder if anyone in Victoria government has done the sums on the loss or income from decisions like this to tourism and country towns. Wouldn't it be wiser to open up more areas.
