Hey does anyone have any particular choice for backpacks, even for just general bushwalking? I'm looking to upgrade to something more sturdy to carry mainly camera and first aid equipment, but now ive got a bit of fossicking equipment its getting pretty heavy

Yeah try to avoid a frame in a pack that is shaped anything like a coil- had that problem once. Go for nice wide soft thick straps, avoid flimsy dsign features like small duty zipps and inadequate reinforcing stitching. a solid waste belt to take the weight to your hips helps too. Ive found Macpack to be quite good, just don't go for anything marketed as "lightweight". You'll pay extra for the quality but it will save time, money and suffering in the end. Hope this helps.
