This is one spot I visited on the weekend. Some gold but it was hard work. I managed to fall arse over head on the rocks too . Only damage was a sprained finger.

Can be very slippery i made a home made light weight crow bar to lean on crossing slippery areas, a piece of gal pipe and weld a coal chissel in the end of it, great for rolling rocks and is very light weight hope this helps

Glad for you that it was only a sprained finger. Have seen the results of many falls and I don't need to tell you how catastrophic some can turn out.

My backpack took the brunt of the impact which was good. I wont be spending too much time in that part of the creek as the amount gold didnt warrant the effort. I might head back there over summer when the water level is down and access is easier.
