This might be a basic question, but how hard is it to spot a known reef?I have Avenza maps and I plan on copying the GPS coordinates of some known reefs into google maps then going to find them. I have heard the coordinates on these maps might be a bit off, but will it be obvious I'm standing on a reef by an outcrop of quartz?
Thanks

Victoria.
Almost any Victorian gold-bearing reef has old workings (remains of a headframe, shaft, tunnels, other excavations) and a name, whereas barren reefs have few or no workings and probably wouldn't have been named. The more quartz lying around, the more likely that the reef was barren.
