I spent 6 months prospecting the Palmer in 1973 - exactly 100 years after Mulligan found payable gold. Worked underwater (when there was some!) A wonderful time, and country - helped out with mustering when required. In 1972, was prospection for alluvial tin on the Walsh - first from Herberton and then from Chillagoe. The gold is still in the bones!
