    Mooralla

I'm planning a trip to Mooralla in the upcoming holidays. We drive an old mazda three hatchback so are a bit worried about the road in. We will likely stay for two nights and mainly sift through mullock heaps or continue someone elses hole. Could anyone who has been to this area give me some...

    Tubbarubba Sapphires

Hello everyone, Im taking a trip down to the peninsula and was wondering if anyone knows about sapphires from Tubbarubba or Bulldog creek near mount Martha. I know that there have been sapphires found there in the 60s, but i as wondering if anyone has more up to date information. Thanks, Manficat

Good job on the big zircons or garnets, they could be facetable. The sapphires are nice too, but those pickers make my mouth water! Nice job!

Good job on the sapphires. I better get back there, I still havent found my first sapphire. Good job in the gold department too, much better than what I found there. Hope you had a good time!

    ⭐ Gemstone & Mineral Show n Tell

Found a large tube of olivine at Shadwell. Some people who have gone there for years have only found four small ones, so I guess this makes up for the lack of facetable olivine 🙂

Can't help either. Im sure you'll do well with all this research. Make sure you tell us how you do, there's many keen people who would love to revisit this area. Also, do some research on the ridge road quarry in Daylesford. Haven't been there myself, but it seems promising.

    DAYLESFORD, VIC

In all my research I have never heard of opal in Daylesford. The only place where traces were found in a granite quarry is Glenrowan. Which book is this?

    DAYLESFORD, VIC

Yes, there probably would be a reef. Don't take my word for it though. Whereabouts in Steiglitz was this? I have been searching for crystals for ages and never been lucky

Unfortunately sapphires are extremely rare in sailors creek, and it would be quite a task to find any kind of sizeable stone. Either way, any place where it is hard to get down into the creek is good, like where the gorse acts as a prickly hedge. Try wallaby track in daylesford. It runs along...

    River Access (Victoria)

So I guess a small unassuming creek in Lancefield is off limits.

How much would you pay for a bull ant?

I would pay anything for unlimited AntRid - can never get enough of it

    River Access (Victoria)

Hey everyone, I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I would love to know if fossicking in rivers on private land is ok. There's a river I want to sieve in, and it is on a farm block, but I can access it without walking onto the farmer's land. Can I sieve in this creek without...

    Mine collapse

Almandine Garnet + Pyrite cubes from Vic

    Quartz Creek

I hope this helps. If you type 'Quartz creek gentle annie' into google maps, it comes up.

    Quartz Creek

Ah sorry, I guess it's a very common name. It's in Gentle Annie. There's a mention on Mindat

    Quartz Creek

Hello everyone. Does anyone know about fossicking at Quartz Creek? It's a bit far for me but if it is worth the drive, I would love to go. Mindat mentions topaz from there, but I'm a bit doubtful. Manficat
